Writing Challenges

People everywhere around the globe have writing challenges and I believe I do too. Speaking and reading a language can be difficult on a person to learn. Especially, if they do not practice constantly or use speaking more than writing. Some challenges that I have with writing is at times I mix English and Spanish together when I write. Growing up I've always had this situation but, it is because I am bilingual and I know I just have to work on it to get better. Everyone progresses differently, some faster than others but that does not mean they are better than them. As the challenges come along, you should always remember to try your best and just keep practicing.

  2. When you said "speaking" did you mean like dialogue? However, I agree with you I feel people should try and bring more life to their writing.

    1. Yes, some people mess up and have a hard time to communicate with others. It's all a matter of practice to improve.

  4. You're right Julie, it is difficult to read and write in a language that once was foreign to us and still is to some of our parents. Dedication will get you to where you want to be.

  5. I agree with you Julie. Its hard to stay on topic of the essay or when your writing because English was not our first language so its weird when we have to write so much when the language was not our first.

  6. Julie, your blog post pretty much sums up the necessity for practice. I do understand that it becomes even more of a challenge when English was not your first language. However, there are bilingual students who speak English/Spanish but do not write/read in Spanish because they began writing/reading in English only. No matter what your first language, language acquisition definitely requires practice, practice and more practice! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  7. Yes, your right Julie because it can be hard at times to write an essay or paragraph in a language that we learned well growing up. But also I think I struggle with writing just because English class wasn't my favorite class to go to and when I went I would pay much attention.
